The vector has the following structural components: a human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) promoter that facilitates the increased expression of the inserted gene, rabbit β-globin intron II that facilitates the splicing event, T7 bacteriophage promoter that allows transcription of the inserted gene, a multiple cloning site (MCS) that facilitates the introduction of many gene sequences, a SV40 polyadenylation sequence that brings about the increased levels of protein expression, BSM13+ sequence that subsumes an origin of replication, the ampicillin resistance gene and lastly a hemagglutinin (HA)/FLAG tag at the N-terminal which assists in the expression and purification of the expressed proteins.
