Description描述：Clinically affected; sickle cell anemia; diagnosed at age 6 months but clinical problems did not develop until 18 months of age; pain crises about two times per year with an increase to every 2-3 months during late teens; middle ear infection requiring IV antibiotics at age 4 years; infection of unknown etiology at age 12 years; history of community acquired pneumonia/acute chest syndrome on 3 occasions; history of one blood transfusion; pain crises decreased to about 4 per year when hydroxyurea started; kidney stones; diagnosed with cutaneous lupus via lymph node biopsy at age 28 years; hemoglobin electrophoresis results: HbA = 4.3%, HbA2 = 0%, HbF = 19.5%, HbS = 76.2%; hemoglobin = 10.2 g/dl; MCV = 100._x000D_
