A. chroococcum W5 can improve plant growth and nutrient uptake when co-inoculated with other microbes into plant roots. For example, when co-inoculated with the fungus Piriformospora indica into rice roots, A. chroococcum W5 can help plants resist biotic stress.
- A. chroococcum can help crops grow in general, and can even help crops grow in soils polluted with heavy metals.
- A. chroococcum W5 produces indole acetic acid (IAA), which promotes plant growth.
