BioVector® Butyricimonas virosa is a Gram-negative, obligately anaerobic, non-spore-forming rod-shaped bacterium belonging to the order Bacteroidales and the family Odoribacteraceae. Originally isolated from human faecal samples, its most significant metabolic hallmark is the production of substantial amounts of butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) vital for intestinal health.
