BioVector® Thy0517 is a specialized cell line derived from human Thymoma tissue. Thymomas are tumors originating from the thymic epithelial cells and are frequently associated with paraneoplastic autoimmune conditions, most notably Myasthenia Gravis (MG). The Thy0517 cell line retains essential biochemical characteristics of thymic epithelia, including the expression of specific cytokeratins and the ability to simulate the microenvironment involved in T-cell selection. It serves as a vital in vitro model for studying thymic oncology, epithelial-T cell interactions, and the pathogenesis of thymus-related autoimmune syndromes.
